About the Client:

Lanas Trinidad is the leading producer and exporter of washed and combed wool in Uruguay. With a wool-making tradition since 1916, its products are exported to the world's main and most demanding markets.

Its production is developed under the concept of a circular economy, where each stage of the process aims for efficiency and environmental care. The company is characterized by providing support to producers by facilitating tools related to animal welfare, ultrasound for future mothers, application of superior genetics, Tally Hi shearing, green label conditioning, and polyethylene packaging.

The Challenge:

Lanas Trinidad was facing issues with its land transportation logistics, as its drivers were not adequately recording their working hours, freight, fuel loads, and the technical conditions of the trucks. This lack of accurate records caused difficulties in meeting legal regulations, leading to financial inconsistencies and compromising operational safety. Additionally, the inefficiency in monitoring essential information resulted in delivery delays and increased operational costs. To resolve this situation, the client needed a digital system that would allow for real-time recording, thereby improving efficiency and transparency in their logistics operation.

The Solution:

The solution consisted of developing a mobile application for the recording and control of drivers' work and operations. With this tool, drivers can log the start and end of their working hours. It is also possible to update the technical parameters of the truck before each trip, ensuring control over the vehicle's condition. Additionally, the application allows for tracking fuel loads, as well as the loading and unloading of assigned freight. This solution enhances the accuracy of monitoring logistical information, optimizing operational efficiency and facilitating compliance with labor and safety regulations at Lanas Trinidad.

The Result:

The implementation of the mobile application offers multiple benefits for both the drivers and the company. For the drivers, it allows them to work offline, recording activities and the condition of the truck at any time, and easily synchronizing the data when there is an internet connection. Additionally, all operations are stored in a database, providing accessible history and improving transparency. The interface is user-friendly and easy to navigate, which facilitates quick adoption on mobile devices with Android and iOS.

For the company, this translates into greater operational efficiency, as the ability to work offline minimizes disruptions in daily routines. It also benefits from centralized access to accurate and updated data, improving decision-making regarding maintenance, fuel management, and route assignment. Furthermore, the detailed recording helps ensure compliance with labor and safety regulations, while the application's ease of use ensures rapid adoption by the drivers.
